Today’s blog post is actually a bit more candid….I hope y’all don’t mind. Typically, I try to put out something a bit more polished, and for my own personal growth, I hope you don’t mind, but this one is off the cuff. It’s time to put the kabosh on perfectionism, and take action and just be a bit more real…for this post.
You see, my philosophy is that there is value in taking time to prepare what I put out there. However, a little birdie told me that, people like the raw and uncut version, so here we go. I am here to show up, put myself out there and hope y’all don’t run away screaming! Lol! Just kidding! 🙂 First off – I am so very scared to put myself out there like this. Very introverted, shy, and never quite feel like I have it together – like I am just stumbling through life pretending like I know what I am doing. But to quote a mentor of mine, Ruth Soukoup, you just gotta do it scared, right?
By way of an update – Keto has been amazing. I have learned the ins and out of Keto flu…and dropped over 20 pounds since I started. Waahoooo! The best part though, is that my energy levels are off the chart with there being no need for coffee or tea in the mornings. Next, will be working on decreasing the amount of dairy I rely on – I will let you know how that works out for me. I continue to learn every day about the amazing benefits of welcoming healthy fats into our diets.
As far as this happy little site is concerned…there is major growth in the works. I continue to learn all I can about blogging, web design, photography…but the main thing – writing – is certainly my favorite part…and the bit I have been most neglecting. I am also determined to become a social media master, improve my instagram page, along with FB and Pinterest. Twitter will be a bit down the road. All in due time. Currently I use a mix of purchased stock photos and my own – no need for your eyes to suffer while I learn! 🙂 One day, I will try a short video…but one step at a time, right?
In the health and fitness side of things – I have jumped into the world of wellness coaching and absolutely love the field. My personal story, starts when I was fortunate enough to hire a personal trainer a few years back. I adore her, admire her, and am so thankful for the change and impact she had on my life. I was scared of her at first, she won bikini competitions and was the real deal – certainly a tough trainer. After a change in circumstances, we had to part ways for a little while (hopefully!), but it educated me on a real need that personal trainers are really unable to provide. You see, with a trainer they are limited in what they can provide – it really is workouts and your meals. However, me, being the macro-vision person that I am and always looking through the wide lens, I have always felt that there is so much more involved with a person’s overall health. Our work/life balance plays a huge part. Our family history plays a huge part. Our home plays a part. Mental and emotional synergy, along with family relationships and even our relationship with the medical industry all play a huge part on our success in the gym, or in the kitchen.
Regardless, my trainer left me with a deep desire to get into health and wellness. The opportunity to help people grow, and see their eyes light up when they achieve something they never thought they could – that is my ultimate happy place. So, should the stars align, in the very near future, I will be helping all sorts of gorgeous lovelies to push through plateaus and surprise themselves with what they can do!
Going forward, I will be working to add more photos to individual posts – more images and less words being the goal. We are such a visual society these days – I think it’s really important to shift a bit. Anyhow, I hope this post finds you in a hopeful and happy state and that you can always see the good that shines inside you.
Have a Happy-Happy week!
